In Uganda, Dr. Ross Boyce tested a military uniform treatment idea on the wraps used to carry babies in many parts of Africa and South America. Would treating these baby wraps with permethrin protect these babies from malaria? This six month study included 400 mother-baby pairs, and the results were pro-permethrin. Babies in the permethrin-treated wraps had 66% fewer cases of malaria.
