Trail Name:

Sydney Williams is an author, speaker, outdoor adventurer, and the founder of Hiking My Feelings, a nonprofit creating opportunities for people to experience the healing power of nature. Her work explores what becomes possible when we slow down, pay attention, and develop deeper relationships with ourselves, each other, and the landscapes we move through.

After hiking helped transform her own relationship with her health, Sydney began sharing that experience with communities across the United States. Since 2018, Hiking My Feelings has hosted more than 600 programs and experiences connecting time outside with personal reflection, community care, and environmental stewardship. Today, her work through Reciprocity Rx™ explores how our relationship with nature can support personal and community health while inspiring deeper care for the places that care for us. Sydney’s work and story have been featured by The New York Times, BBC, Popular Science, Health, Psychology Today, and U.S. News & World Report, and she has brought her work to stages and gatherings including SXSW and the Public Lands Alliance Convention.

Sydney and Sawyer have been working together since 2021, when Sawyer first supported Hiking My Feelings during the Take a Hike Diabetes campaign. What began with gear for the trail has grown into years of shared adventures, volunteer projects, storytelling, and a partnership grounded in the belief that access to clean water, healthy communities, and healthy landscapes are deeply connected. You can usually find Sydney somewhere outside with her husband and adventure partner, Barry, taking entirely too many photos, dropping waypoints for stories she’ll write later, and finding another reason to stay a little longer.
