DAL Promotes Practical Water Management As El Nino Threatens Food Production
The Department of Agriculture and Livestock (DAL) is urging farmers and rural communities to take practical steps to protect, conserve and manage available water as prolonged El Nino and dry conditions continue to place pressure on food gardens, livestock and household food security.
DAL Secretary Dr Sergie Bang said water was fundamental to agriculture production and that communities needed to carefully manage the limited water resources available to them during prolonged dry periods.
