Every year, I update my ultralight backpacking gear list in the spring with what I anticipate bringing into the backcountry for the following backpacking season. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all my thousands of miles (and nights?) out backpacking, it’s that there’s no such thing as a perfect gear list; they’re living things, constantly evolving and changing.
