The hardest hikes are always the most memorable.
Hiking should be fun and cheap. Most times you can cut corners, but you always get what you pay for. For the most part. I don’t know it all nor do I try to sound like I do. The purpose of this blog is to share my experiences and opinions and to keep learning.
Since I can remember I’ve been athletic and always fishing.
Some of my fondest memories growing up was fishing with my brother, dad, and grandpa. Getting up at 4 am during the summer at the age of 13 just so my brother and I can get our poles in the water before sunrise will be a memory ill never forget.
Hiking however came at a later time in my life. Never actively went searching for trails, but went here and there with friends.
However I do remember very vividly going to the Smoky Mountains with my grandma and grandpa in my early teens. Fast forward 15years and I got to take my daughter twice in 2017 to embed that memory in her just like it did with me. I wanted to share that experience with my wife and daughter.
It took that one trip for my wife to get bit by the nature bug. We have been searching for different trails in our home state of Indiana to hike as much as we can ever since.
